WASHINGTON — Most government offices are closed Monday, and traffic restrictions change for the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday.
Metro trains will run on a Saturday holiday schedule; buses will run on a Saturday Supplemental schedule. Parking at Metro lots and garages is free.
All federal and local government offices are closed, so are post offices. There’s no mail delivery except for Express Mail.
Most banks are closed, as are the courts.
There’s no MARC train service on the Camden or Brunswick Lines. The Penn Line is operating on a Sunday schedule. Virginia Railway Express trains will not run on Monday.
ART 41, 42, 51, 77 and 87 will operate on Saturday schedules. All other ART routes will not operate.
All Fairfax Connector routes operate on regular weekdays. Routes with holiday weekday service operate according to the weekday schedule, except routes 335, 394, 395, 432, 493, 494, 495, 585, 599, 724, 734 and 985, which will not run.
Trash and recycling pickups in the District, Alexandria and Prince George’s County all slide one day later this week.
D.C. parking enforcement will take a holiday Monday. There will be no ticketing at parking meters; residential parking and rush-hour lane restrictions are also lifted for the day. Meter parking is free in Montgomery, Prince George’s and Arlington counties and Alexandria.
On the roads, HOV restrictions are lifted in Virginia on I-66, I-395, the Dulles Toll Road and I-95. (You still have to pay a toll on 95, though.) In Maryland, the HOV restrictions are lifted on Route 270 but are still in effect on Route 50.
