PHOTOS: Soldier-diplomat Colin Powell laid to rest at Washington National Cathedral

Friends, relatives and former colleagues honored Colin Powell, the first Black chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and and the first Black secretary of state, at a funeral service Friday at the Washington National Cathedral.

Powell died Oct. 18 of complications from COVID-19 at age 84. He had been vaccinated but had a compromised immune system from multiple myeloma.
