WATCH: Jimmy Carter’s state funeral at Washington National Cathedral

Jimmy Carter, the 39th U.S. president, was honored with the pageantry of a state funeral in the nation’s capital at the Washington National Cathedral in Northwest on Thursday.

When he departs D.C., he will be honored in a second service and burial in his tiny Georgia hometown that launched a Depression-era farm boy to the world stage.

Carter’s remains arrived to the nation’s capital on Tuesday and taken to the U.S. Capitol where he lay in state until his body was taken to the cathedral on Thursday morning. After the funeral, Air Force One will carry Carter and his family back to Georgia.

Watch the proceedings below.
