2019 Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport
Price: $68,990 as driven (estimated)
Lots of excitement surrounds the 2020 Corvette — which will, for the first time, have its engine behind the front seats, in an evolutionary leap.
But lots of 2019 front-engine Corvettes remain, and getting a deal on one shouldn’t be hard. Car and Driver reported finding discounts of up to $16,000 last month.
The Grand Sport represents the sweet spot in the outgoing Corvette lineup, and features plenty of power along with upgraded brake and suspension parts, making it a terrific handler as well.
Also, this is your last chance to get a manual transmission in a Corvette, with the model making the shift to automatic-only in 2020.
2019 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye
Price: $88,410 as driven
Chrysler brands’ discounts have been the biggest in a decade, according to Bloomberg. That’s good news for those interested in a leftover 2019 Dodge Challenger – even the high-powered Hellcat.
Dodge’s website promises a discount of $7,970 on a Hellcat Redeye Widebody.
It offers otherworldly acceleration thanks to its 797 horsepower engine, but also provides plenty of room for five people and a comfortable ride.
The wide-body package allows for wider tires and much needed grip.
The Challenger’s inner headlight is actually an air intake that helps the powerful motor breathe.
