Buick finally gives its largest vehicle some much needed love, and it might just be what this big, midsize crossover needs to play in the premium crossover market.
The Enclave moves from forgettable to “Hey, look at me!” for 2025. The new-look Buick is more noticeable with fresh styling that looks more SUV tough than before. A large grill and slender LED lighting give the Enclave a more modern look than I remember from the past. Choose the top-of-line Avenir trim level and 22-inch wheels finished in a pleasing pearl nickel finish enhance the look. The Enclave is no little crossover, and while its roughly the same size as before, it looks more svelte with a few more curves on the body than on previous Enclave models.
The Enclave’s interior is also totally revamped-fitted with a modern makeover. A big screen stretches from the driver to the center dash that houses the driver’s gauges, radio, NAV and HVAC controls in one large 30-inch screen. The large cabin features better materials. The Enclave is a midsize vehicle, but its large inside with three rows of seats can fit adults in all rows. There is even good cargo space for this class.
Another big change for the 2025 Buick Enclave is a new engine. The V6 is gone, and a new turbocharged four-cylinder engine is now motivating it. With more power for this year, it means you won’t really miss the V6. However, when you ask it for a lot of power, you notice the engine noise at higher RPMs. The ride is also improved, with a willingness to soak up bumps and provide a comfy feel. More technology is on display with the optional Super Cruise system that handles highway driving well, even changing lanes when needed to pass or brake without driver input.
Cost: $58,000; as tested $65,125
MPG: 19 mpg city; 24 mpg highway. I managed 23.2 in 353 miles of mixed driving.
Options: $3,730 Super Cruise package; $2,000 all-wheel drive system.
Safety: Rear park assist; auto park assist with brake; adaptive cruise control; head-up display; rear camera mirror with washer; automatic emergency braking; front pedestrian braking; lane keep assist with lane departure warning; forward collision alert; following distance indicator; IntelliBeam headlamp control; side blind zone alert & lane change alert; rear cross traffic alert; tire fill alert; child presence detector; SuperCruise.
