Car Review: Bigger Genesis SUV makes others (matte) green with envy

This 2026 Genesis GV80 is a real head-turner in a dark matte green, which goes well with the SUV’s clean lines, wide crest-shaped grille and dark, giant wheels.

The outside color of this three-row SUV also contrasts nicely with the “vanilla beige” leather seats.

It’s generally opulent inside with a wide LED screen that stretches from in front of the driver to the middle of the SUV. There’s even a scent diffuser to keep things smelling nice.

This one makes plenty of power but takes premium fuel.

When driving, this GV80 cleverly shows a video feed of your blind spot on the dashboard display when the turn signal is on.

I did notice that the gas pedal was touchy, especially when starting to move from a stop.

This SUV is big and spacious, but that size means it’s a little harder to park.

Unlike the GV80 Coupe, which has a more sloping rear roofline and which we drove previously, this one has a power-folding third row, but it’s very tight. Cargo space is generous with the third row down, though.

The total price for this 2026 Genesis GV80 3.5T Prestige AWD, which is the fanciest GV80 you can get, is $85,325 after shipping. A base 2026 GV80 starts at $59,195, after shipping.

Both are relative bargains compared to their luxury competitors.
