FREDERICK COUNTY, Md. — A UPS building in Frederick County, Maryland, caught fire late Monday night. An unknown number of packages and 10 UPS trucks have been damaged.

“There was damage to some packages, I’m not exactly sure whether they were located within that structure or if they were located in the different trucks,” said Frederick County Battalion Chief Kevin Fox.

Firefighters were called to the scene at around 11:45 p.m. A package loading structure, 10 vehicles and an extension of the main building were on fire, according to Fox.

“Sprinklers were activated within that main facility which kept the fire from spreading to the contents within,” Fox said.

Some of the UPS trucks were destroyed by the fire.

“The trucks sustained pretty significant damage, I’m not sure if they were all inoperable but a good many of them were,” Fox said.

No injuries were reported. Frederick County Fire Marshal is investigating the cause of the fire and its exact origin.

The building is located at 6766 English Muffin Way. Below is a map of the area where authorities say the fire happened.
