Check out these DC-area hotspots for ringing in the new year

WASHINGTON — There are still plenty of delicious ways to ring in 2018. Here’s a rundown of what’s available around the area.

Enjoy New Year’s Eve at this historic restaurant. Cocktail historian and author Philip Greene joins bartender Frankie Jones for an evening of cocktail history, folklore and (of course) drinking. Featured will be the original Champagne Cocktail, the French 75, the Bellini, the Death in the Afternoon and several more. Enjoy samples and learn how to make them at home. Dash of Seduction Soiree New Year’s Eve Party

Chef Ryan Ratino and Bresca host this formal party in partnership with Piper-Heidsieck Champagne. Maydan will offer a special menu based on their favorite travel experiences from 2017. Choose three dishes, a dessert and a glass of celebratory champagne. Only 90 seats are available to try Chiko’s rare tasting menu. Champagne toast and party favors will be included, along with food and a glass of bubbly. Seatings are at 5, 7 and 9 p.m. Tickets are $65.  The event is booked out, but you can still get on a waiting list here.
