Fairfax Co. police say teen missing since February now in danger

WASHINGTON — Fairfax County police say a 16-year-old girl who walked away from a juvenile facility in February is now likely in danger.

Angelica Flores, of the Alexandria section of Fairfax County, Virginia, was last seen Feb. 17, at the Shelter Care juvenile facility.

“She was not released, she left on her own,” said Fairfax County police officer Reem Awad.

“Detectives have been looking for her — earlier this week they developed information that leads them to believe she may be in danger, so they upgraded her to ‘critical missing,’ and ask for the public’s help.”

Police are not describing specifically why they believe Flores is now in danger.

“Detectives believe she has gang ties, or is associated with people who have gang ties,” Awad said.

Flores is described as 4 feet 11 inches tall, 110 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair, possibly dyed red.

“If you think you’ve seen her somewhere, give us a call, and let detectives check it out,” said Awad.

The number to call to speak with a detective is 703-223-4046. Tipsters are eligible for cash rewards, of $100 to $1000, if their information leads to an arrest.
