Man killed after car crashes into Fairfax McDonald’s

WASHINGTON — A man eating breakfast at McDonald’s in Fairfax, Virginia, Monday morning was killed after a driver slammed into the wall of the restaurant.

The 69-year-old driver, whose name has not been released by police, was pulling into a parking spot of the McDonald’s at 3924 Old Lee Highway around 6:45 a.m. and hit the gas pedal instead of the brake, Fairfax City police said.

Harold Skeins, 78, of Fairfax was killed after the crash left him pinned between the table he was sitting at and the wall of the building. Another man around the same age, who was eating with Skeins, is in the hospital in critical condition, police said.

The driver was not injured, police said. Fairfax police are investigating the crash. No charges have been filed.
