Woman identified in Centreville hit-and-run

WASHINGTON — An 85-year-old woman was killed trying to cross the road near a Virginia shopping center Thursday night. She’s been identified as Adela Antayhua by police.

Officer Shelley Broderick, of the Fairfax County Police, says police were called to Stone Road and Braddock Road near the Village Center in Centreville around 6:45 after someone spotted Antayhua lying in the road. She died on the way to the hospital.

Police are saying her death is a result of a hit-and-run.
