NBC, AFI partner to launch first ‘Meet the Press’ documentary film festival

WASHINGTON — If it’s Sunday, it’s “Meet the Press.” But if it’s November, it’s documentaries.

The inaugural Meet the Press Film Festival will arrive in Washington D.C. this November.

The festival is timed with the 70th anniversary of “Meet the Press” and the 50th anniversary of the American Film Institute, which is co-hosting the festival along with NBC News.

The first-ever event will feature seven short-length documentaries (40 minutes or less) told from a diversity of perspectives and exploring political, social and issue-based themes.

Film submissions are being accepted now through Sept. 15. Click here to submit.

More information will be announced in the coming weeks.
