Suspect sought in DC assault, robbery

WASHINGTON — Detectives are seeking the public’s help in finding a suspect in a sexually-related assault in Northwest D.C. on Saturday.

At approximately 1:30 a.m. on Saturday, the victim was walking in the 1500 block of Park Road, Northwest when the suspect approached and assaulted the victim, according to the Metropolitan Police Department.

The suspect then forcibly took the victim’s cellphone and credit card before fleeing on foot, police said.

The police say that the suspect intended to commit a sexual assault and is being sought for assault with intent to commit a first-degree sexual abuse and robbery by force and violence.

Anyone with knowledge of the incident is urged to call police at 202-727-9099 or text a tip to the police text tip line at 50411. Crime Solvers currently offers a reward of up to $1,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and indictment of the person or persons responsible for a crime committed in D.C.
