WASHINGTON — Neiko Primus is still in elementary school but the basketball star’s skills are already getting national attention, ranking him the No. 1 9-year-old in basketball.

And just a day before his 10th birthday, the D.C. native got the opportunity to throw the ball around and show off some tricks with Zeus McClurkin of the Harlem Globetrotters.

Primus’ mother Michelle Mundey also joined in on the fun and talked about the bond with her son.

“Keeping him grounded is No. 1 for me. HE gets treated different because of who he is. Before the world gets to him, I try to make sure he has a foundation within my home,” said Mundey. “I got a little emotional thinking about him turning double digits.”

The Harlem Globetrotters face off against the Washington Generals this Saturday.
