Speeches and shots: DC bars offer State of the Union deals

WASHINGTON — Want to watch President Donald Trump deliver his first State of the Union speech with a drink in your hand and plenty of company?

Several D.C. bars will have TVs tuned to the speech Tuesday night and deals to draw you in:

The 201 Bar

Its $5 drink menu includes “Stable Genius Shots,” “Fake Moscow Mules” and “Covfefe 75.”

Barrel

Every time Trump says “fake news” during his speech, everyone in the Elixir Bar gets a shot of Old Overholt whiskey. Also, starting at 8 p.m., Elixir will have $5 draft and canned beers.

Nellie’s Sports Bar

Satellite Room

Win prizes by playing the State of the Union bingo game, which includes words and phrases such as “America First,” “Hillary” and “Russia.” It’ll also offer a $1 “cheap shot” every time the president insults someone.

Shaw’s Tavern

Shaw’s is serving up half-price pizzas and burgers, $5 house wines, $5 Sam Adams drafts and a drinking game.

Union Pub

From 5 p.m. until the pub closes, enjoy $4 select bourbons, $5 rail drinks and $12.50 pitchers of Bud Light. Play State of the Union bingo with drinks as prizes.
