Md. teen arrested in DC shooting that killed 16-year-old, injured 1

WASHINGTON — A second person is under arrest and facing a murder charge in the shooting death of a D.C. teen.

On Thursday, the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested 17-year-old Victor Hernandez of Hyattsville. He is charged as an adult in a fatal shooting that occurred on the 1300 block of Rittenhouse Street NW.

That shooting left 16-year-old Yoselis Barrios dead, and another person injured on Nov. 7.

Hernandeez was expected to be arraigned on Friday afternoon. He’s the second person to be charged in Barrios’ death. Last week, police arrested 20-year-old Kevin Sorto on a murder charge.

Barrios’ death may have also led to another shooting along the Georgia Avenue corridor about a mile south of Rittenhouse Street.
