Police seek suspect in DC teen’s fatal shooting; 1 in custody

WASHINGTON — Police in D.C. made an arrest in the fatal shooting of a teenager in Northwest, and are looking for help in locating another suspect.

Kevin Sorto, a 20-year-old Northwest D.C. resident, was arrested Wednesday and charged with the murder of 16-year-old Yoselis Regino Barrios.

Barrios and another man were found by D.C. police on Nov. 7 suffering from gunshot wounds on the 1300 block of Rittenhouse Street NW.

Barrios and the wounded man were transported to the hospital where the teenager was pronounced dead. according to investigators. The other man suffered nonlife threatening injured.

A second suspect in the case, 17-year-old Victor Hernandez remains at large, police said Thursday.

Both men are facing the charge of first degree murder while armed.

Police are offering up to a $25,000 reward in the case. Anyone with information is asked to call 202-727-9099.
