DC police seek person, vehicle of interest in homicide (Video)

WASHINGTON — A man was shot and killed last Saturday in Southeast D.C., and police are seeking more information about a vehicle and person of interest caught on video.

The victim was identified as 22-year-old Maleak Coffin, of Southeast D.C., who died due to a gunshot wound injury on Tuesday at a local hospital.

The shooting occurred shortly after 11 a.m. in the 2900 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue, after which emergency responders found Coffin with a gunshot wound inside a vehicle.

Police have offered a reward up to $25,000 for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for homicides committed in the city. Residents can call 202-727-9099 or anonymously text the department’s tip line with information by sending a text to 50411.
