Woman’s body found in burning DC car

WASHINGTON — A woman who had been shot was found inside a burning car in Southeast D.C. on Thursday night.

D.C. police said in a statement on Friday that they were called to Adrian Street, just south of G Street, at about 7:30 p.m. Thursday for a report of a shooting. When police arrived, they found a vehicle on fire.

Once the fire was put out, the officers found a woman, unconscious and suffering from gunshot wounds, inside the car. When D.C. Fire and Emergency Medical Services got there, they found “no signs consistent with life,” the police said.

They haven’t identified the woman yet. Police are asking for information from the public; anything that results in an arrest and conviction could be worth a reward of up to $25,000. Anyone with information can call the police at 202-727-9099 or text a tip anonymously to 50411.
