WASHINGTON — D.C. police are looking for two armed men who were in a vehicle that sideswiped a police car in Southeast D.C. early Tuesday morning.

Police said they were called to Barnaby Terrace in Southeast D.C. for a call about a suspicious vehicle around 5:30 a.m. Tuesday. When police showed up, they found two men sleeping in the car with weapons on their laps.

When the men were awakened, the driver put the car in gear and tried to speed away, scraping a police car in the process. But before they could get too far away, the car crashed and flipped upside down, police said.

Police say one man ran off into Prince George’s County. The other ran off in a different direction. No one was injured, and no weapons were recovered. Police said both men are still on the loose.
