Man dies after shooting in Southwest DC

WASHINGTON — An 18-year-old man is dead and a boy was wounded after a shooting in Southwest D.C. on Saturday.

At around 9:20 p.m., D.C. police responded to reports of a shooting in the 300 block of P Street. After arriving, police found a man and a boy suffering from gunshot wounds in the 1400 block of 4th Street.

Both were taken to hospitals, where the man later died, according to a news release from D.C. police.

The man has been identified as Khyre Amar Ledbetter, of Northeast D.C.

The boy’s injuries were not life threatening.
