WASHINGTON — Firefighters battled a two-alarm house fire in Mt. Pleasant Saturday night.
The house fire started at the back porch of a single-family row house just after 10:15 p.m. near the corner of Lamont and 17th streets in Northwest.
Firefighters launched an aggressive interior attack to contain the fire, which reached the roof of the 3-story house.

Six people were displaced. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
