D.C. police make sweep of arrests in recent homicide investigations

WASHINGTON — On Friday, the Metropolitan Police Department announced a number of arrests in separate, unsolved homicides throughout  the city.

 On Thursday, March 24, Tavon Stewart, 24, of Southeast D.C. was arrested and charged with Second Degree Murder While Armed.

He was charged in the  March 1 shooting death of Rudolph Garris, 25,  of Northeast D.C., in the 4200 block of 6th Street, Southeast.

Also on Thursday,  Alphonso Roberts, 32, of Southeast, DC, was arrested and charged with Second Degree Murder While Armed. He is charged in the Feb. 10 shooting death of Mauricio Walker, 23, of Northeast D.C., in the 1900 block of 18th Street, Southeast.

On Wednesday, Ronald Bruce Thomas, 29, of Oxon Hill, Md., was arrested and charged with First Degree Murder While Armed. He is accused of killing Dontel Price, 21, of Northeast D.C.,  May 18, 2013, on S Street, Northeast.

On Tuesday,  a juvenile female of Southeast, D.C., was arrested and charged with Second Degree Murder while Armed in connection with the March 22 stabbing death of  Amanjanea La-Shell Whitley, 18, of Southeast, D.C., on Benning Road, Southeast.

Also  Tuesday:  29-year-old Anthony Wade of Southeast, D.C., was arrested and charged with Second Degree Murder while Armed in connection with the March 9 shooting death of Aubrey Dansbury, 27, in the area of 800 block of Chesapeake Street, Southeast.
