Police: Armed suspect sexually assaulted woman in D.C.

WASHINGTON — Police are searching for a suspect who sexually assaulted a woman in Northwest D.C. over the weekend.

The Metropolitan Police Department says a suspect approached a woman and sexually assaulted her in the 600 block of Park Road in Northwest D.C. at about 6 a.m. Sunday. The suspect was armed with a black handgun during the incident, police said Monday.

The suspect is described as a black man between 5 feet, 5 inches and 5 feet, 6 inches tall. He was in his 20s with a medium complexion and muscular build.

At the time of the assault, he wore a blue and white plaid shirt, bluejeans, a blue or purple hat and black sunglasses.
