D.C. elementary teacher charged with sexually abusing child

WASHINGTON — An elementary school teacher in the District has been charged with sexually abusing a child.

The D.C. police say that Leroy Ware, 33, of Northeast, was arrested on Thursday and charged with misdemeanor sexual abuse of a child.

Ware is a teacher at Miner Elementary School.

A police report about the arrest says the child is a boy, but does not specify his age. It’s also unclear whether the boy attends Miner Elementary.

The police are asking anyone who may have information on the case, or any similar incidents that may involve Ware, should call police at 202-727-9099. You can also text information to 50411.
