Man with fake gun arrested at D.C. police station

WASHINGTON — A man has been arrested after attempting to pull a gun from his pants at a Metropolitan Police Department Station. Police later determined the gun was actually a black replica of a pistol.

Around 10:30 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 8, police were speaking with D’Angelo Hamilton, 18, after he had entered the Fifth District Police Station on Bladensburg Road in Northeast. It was while Hamilton was speaking with officers that he attempted to pull the fake gun from his pants. He was then arrested.

It was later determined that the gun wasn’t real.

Hamilton has been charged with a carjacking incident from earlier Thursday along with assault on a police officer and carrying a dangerous weapon.
