WASHINGTON — Runners, mark your calendars: the Marine Corps Marathon has announced the date for its lottery to register for the exclusive race.
The marathon’s online “lottery” is March 13, 2015 to March 22, 2015. The 2015 race field is limited to 30,000 participants, so the lottery helps select the runners.
Registration for the lottery does not guarantee an entry. Anyone 14 or older is eligible to register for the lottery.
On March 25, marathon representatives notifies runners via email if they will get to compete in the 26.2-mile race that goes through D.C. and Northern Virginia.
Those runners who are not selected can still participate through a MCM Charity Partner or a transfer entry.
The 2015 Marine Corps Marathon — its 40th event — is scheduled to take place Sunday, Oct. 25, 2015.
