WASHINGTON — D.C. United will be moving into its new home in Buzzard Point in the summer of 2018, and the team announced its first scheduled game in its new home Thursday.
The Red and Black will host the Vancouver Whitecaps on Saturday, July 14 at 7 p.m.
United will play a pair of “home” games before the mid-July opening — on March 17 vs. Houston and April 14 vs. Columbus — at yet-to-be-determined sites in the D.C. area. That means 12 of their first 14 games will be true road games, but that 15 of their final 19 will take place at Audi Field.
United opens its 2018 season Saturday, March 3 at Orlando.
