Tax Day freebies: File and save on April 18

WASHINGTON – This year we get a little extra time to tackle our federal taxes, with Tax Day falling on Tuesday, April 18.

As in years past, it’s a day many companies offer freebies and deals to stressed out taxpayers.

All offers listed here are for April 18, except otherwise noted:

  • Arby’s: Free curly fries on Tax Day, April 18. Find a store.
  • Bob Evans: Save 30 percent off your entire purchase. Just download the coupon.
  • Boston Market: $10.40 gets you a half chicken individual meal with two sides, cornbread, a cookie and a regular fountain drink.
  • Bruegger’s: April 12-19, get a big bagel bundle for just $10.40.
  • California Tortilla: Get free chips and queso when you make any purchase and say “Tax Crunch” when you order.
  • Entertainment Books: The Maryland and Washington D.C. Entertainment Book is now $10.40.
  • Firehouse Subs: With a coupon valid April 18-20, get a free medium sub with the purchase of a large or medium sub, drink and chips. Get updates on the deal through their newsletter or on their website.
  • Great American Cookies: Pick up a free birthday cake cookie, no purchase necessary.
  • The Grill Room in D.C.: Starting April 18 and continuing through the end of April, enjoy a Tax Relief Wine Special during lunch or dinner. Telegramme by Domaine du Vieux Telegraphe, normally $25 a glass and $98 a bottle, will be $15 a glass and $60 a bottle.
  • Hooters: Kids ages 12 and under eat free with the purchase of an adult meal priced $10 and above. See participating locations here.

  • Noodles & Company: April 12-18, get $4 off a $10 purchase when you order online and use code TAXDAY17.
  • Urban Bar-B-Que: Half-price ribs all day with the purchase of two, personal sides at full price.
  • World of Beer: Enjoy a free select draft this Tax Day. Contact your area location to ask about specific offerings.
