BALTIMORE (AP) — Baltimore police say two elderly siblings were walking to a corner market to buy food when they were shot in the leg.
Police said in a news release Tuesday that the 90-year-old woman and her 82-year-old brother were hospitalized in stable condition. Police said the injuries were not life-threatening.
The shootings occurred Monday in southwest Baltimore. No arrests have been made.
Police originally said the victims were waiting at a bus stop when they were shot. Further investigation determined that they got out of a car and were walking across the street from a shopping center to a food store when they were hit. In addition to the gunshot wound, the woman suffered a gash on her head when she fell.
Police say the victims were not the intended targets.
