Jamie Forzato is a News Director at WTOP, supervising the development of the station’s new digital video department and overseeing video storytelling across multiple social platforms.
She began her career at the station in 2010, and has served as an editor, multimedia reporter and Weekend Managing Editor of WTOP and WTOP.com.
As an award-winning reporter, Forzato covered everything from tax delinquent federal workers to presidential inaugurations to the 2013 government shutdown. She produced two in-depth investigative series about the heroin epidemic in the D.C. area: Dealing Death (2015) and Hooked on Heroin (2017).
She also was a contributor to the national CBS Radio Network, which includes more than 100 affiliate radio stations.
Forzato graduated from the University of Maryland’s Philip Merrill College of Journalism with a degree in broadcast journalism, where she covered sports for the student-run radio station. She continues to be involved in higher education as an adjunct professor at the Merrill College, teaching the senior-level radio broadcasting course.
She spends her “off-the-8s” time cuddling with her fluffy Golden Retriever, Charlie, and reading about politics, history and religion. Born and raised in the Philadelphia suburbs, she is a tortured Phillies and Eagles fan. There’s always next year!
