ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) — The Anne Arundel County Council has voted for a $5 raise an hour for teachers who educate public school students who can’t attend class due to illness or other difficulties.
The Capital of Annapolis reports that the council voted 5-2 on Friday to raise their pay from $25 an hour to $30 an hour.
Evening high school and summer school teachers also will see a pay bump.
The decision restores money requested by the superintendent but cut in Anne Arundel County Executive Steve Schuh’s budget.
Last month, home and hospital teachers appealed to the council to reinstate the raise.
