Teen arrested in shooting of cab driver in Alexandria

WASHINGTON – A 16-year-old boy was arrested for shooting and critically wounding a cab driver in Alexandria early Thursday morning.

Police found the 47-year-old cab driver suffering from multiple gunshot wounds about 2 a.m. in the 4600 block of Duke Street in front of the Shoppes of Foxchase. He was taken to the hospital where he remained in critical condition.

The teen, who is from Lorton, was charged with malicious wounding and two gun charges.

The boy’s name was not released.
