Redskins sign Pro Bowl cornerback Josh Norman

WASHINGTON — The Washington Redskins have signed Pro Bowl cornerback Josh Norman, according to multiple sources. The deal is reported to be five years, $75 million, with $51 million coming the first three years. He’s now the highest-paid cornerback in the NFL.

Norman, formerly of the NFC Champion Carolina Panthers, unexpectedly and suddenly became a free agent on Wednesday when the team removed its franchise tag, immediately making him available to any team the week before the NFL Draft. At least a half-dozen teams were reported to have interest in Norman, who met with team officials in Ashburn, Virginia Friday.

The four-year veteran, who will turn 29 in December, started the full slate of 16 games for the first time in his career last season. He had four interceptions, returning two of them for touchdowns, while also forcing three fumbles and recovering two.
