Seven soccer bars to catch Premier League, La Liga and MLS matches

WASHINGTON – Searching for a spot to watch the next Premiere League, La Liga or MLS match?

According to Google, Reddit and Yelp, here are seven favorites among area bars showing the games:

Crowd-Pleasers

Lucky Bar

Located in Dupont Circle, Lucky Bar is one of the better-known soccer spots in D.C. If you’re a Manchester United supporter, you’ll fit in just fine. Despite being the unofficial bar for Red Devils fans in D.C., Lucky Bar shows all Premier League matches as well as MLS games.

Biergarten Haus

As this H Street bar’s website says, “It’s Oktoberfest year round.” Enjoy a wide selection of brews while watching soccer matches inside or outside. Biergarten Haus has a spacious patio with flat screen TVs so you can enjoy both the game and the weather.

Elephant and Castle

This British-style pub has two locations in D.C. Despite the classic English pub look and feel, Elephant and Castle is fun for the whole soccer-loving family. This is a great, kid-friendly place to take young fans.

Summers Restaurant

Summers in Arlington is all about soccer. Close to the Courthouse Metro Station, Summers is home to the D.C. area’s only official Bayern Munich fan club. Summers has a “family-friendly dining room and bar,” and a pub-style bar for fans who like to get loud.

Under The Radar

The Pug

The Pug’s rules are simple: “Relax, drink, be cool, behave.” This H Street bar is smaller than more popular soccer spots like Lucky Bar and Summers, but your chance of snagging a seat for a big game is a lot higher.

Molly Malone’s

This Barracks Row Irish pub boasts more than 50 brews on tap, as well as an interesting take on your typical pub menu. Molly Malone’s shows both Premier League and MLS games.

Johnny Pistolas

This L.A.-inspired taqueria and bar set up shop in Adams Morgan. Johnny Pistolas caters to two very different fan bases: FC Barcelona and Real Madrid. This bar won’t show every La Liga game, but even Barca and Madrid nonbelievers may be tempted by the tacos and tequilas.
