Police ID 2 men shot, killed in District Heights; suspects still wanted

WASHINGTON — Prince George’s County police have identified the two men fatally shot in District Heights, Maryland, early Thursday.

Police found Phillip Michael, 34, of Southeast D.C., and Kenneth Edmonds, 31, of District Heights, with gunshot wounds in the parking lot of an apartment complex in the 6600 block of Atwood Street just before 1 a.m. Thursday.

They were shortly pronounced dead on the scene.

Police said two groups were outside having a “verbal altercation” when several shots were fired.

They are still searching for suspects and witnesses linked to what they are investigating as a double homicide.
