Suspect in Prince George’s Co. double homicide found dead

WASHINGTON — A suspect wanted in the fatal shootings of two women in Prince George’s County was found dead hours after police charged him with the crime.

Police say they found Kevin Tyrice Reynolds, 30, dead in Hanover County, Virginia, around 10 a.m. Tuesday. It appears he died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Detectives had obtained a warrant for Reynolds’ arrest earlier Tuesday morning after charging him with a double homicide in Cheverly, Maryland, Monday night.

Police responded to the 6500 block of Landover Road for the report of a shooting at about 10:30 p.m. Monday. When they arrived, they found two women inside an apartment suffering from gunshot wounds.

The women — 26-year-old Tareeka Jones of Cheverly and 22-year-old Jalisa Walls-Harris of Bowie — were pronounced dead at the scene.

Reynolds and Jones had been in a romantic relationship, police say. Jones and Walls-Harris are sisters, police add.

The Hanover County Sheriff’s Office is investigating Reynold’s death.

Anyone with information about the double homicide is asked to call the Prince George’s County Police Department’s Homicide Unit at 301-772-4925.
