Two women found dead in Cheverly, Md., suspect unknown

CHEVERLY, Md. – Two women are dead following a shooting in an apartment complex in the Town of Cheverly, Maryland.

Police were called to the Cheverly Station Apartments on Landover Road around 10:30 Monday night and found the victims.

They have been identified as Tarekka Jones, 26, of Landover Road in Cheverly and Jalisa Walls-Harris, 22, of Booth Bay Way in Bowie.

“I heard three rapid bangs,” said neighbor William McNeely.  “Someone ran down the steps, slammed the door and was gone.”

Prince George’s County homicide detectives are handling the investigation.

So far, officers have not released any information about the suspect.
