2016 NFL Week 6 Recap

Jets 3
Cardinals 28 David Johnson had his second 3 TD game in his last nine regular season games, the Jets QBs couldn’t hang on to the ball, and the Cards improved to 17-1 at home against non-divisional foes under coach Bruce Arians. Basically, this was one of the few NFL games this week that went the way we expected it to. (Photo by Christian Petersen/Getty Images)

Eagles 20
Redskins 27 The Redskins defense held the Eagles to just one yard on four plays in the 2nd quarter … but gave up 14 points on a Pick 6 and a kick return for a touchdown. Meanwhile, Philly committed 13 penalties for 144 yards, the first time they’ve had back-to-back double digit penalties for over 111 yards since 1952. This was one of those games both teams deserved to lose. However, the Redskins won a game they needed. And they’re on their first 4-game win streak against Philly since 1985-87, their first 4-2 start since 2008, and even with the horrid interception, Kirk Cousins is sporting a 3-1 record as a starter against the Eagles with 10 TDs and only 2 INTs. This division might come down to Dallas and Washington after all … (AP Photo/Nick Wass)
EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ - OCTOBER 16: Odell Beckham #13 of the New York Giants removes his helmet and draws a penalty after scoring the go ahead touchdown against the Baltimore Ravens in the fourth quarter with the Giants winning 27-23 during their game at MetLife Stadium on October 16, 2016 in East Rutherford, New Jersey. Ravens 23
Giants 27 Odell Beckham was a one man show … in more ways than one. His 222 receiving yards are the most by any Giants player in 54 years and on his two touchdowns he performed a whole Broadway show without getting a penalty and then got flagged for his Emmitt Smith impersonation on the game-winning TD (pictured above). All on a day when Vernon Davis gets flagged for this. The NFL needs to help their referees get a grip on properly defining an excessive celebration. (Photo by Al Bello/Getty Images)

Steelers 15
Dolphins 30 Pittsburgh let some guy named Jay Ajayi more than double his season rush total (had 204 yards and 2 TDs after notching only 117 yards before Sunday) and another guy named Isa Abdul-Quddus double his career interception total (2) with a late pick of an already banged up Ben Roethlisberger … yet they still lead their division despite being outscored 64-18 in their last two road games. The AFC North and NFC East have clearly traded places. (AP Photo/Wilfredo Lee)

Bengals 17
Patriots 35 Tom Brady threw for another 376 yards and 3 touchdowns in his first game back at Gillette Stadium, improving his career home record 98-15. I don’t care what division he plays in — you can’t convince me there’s a better QB than Brady. (Photo by Billie Weiss/Getty Images)

49ers 16
Bills 45 Colin Kaepernick made his first start in a calendar year, but proved his impact off the field greatly outweighs his impact on it. Buffalo has scored at least 30 points in three straight home games for the first time in five years and LeSean McCoy (140 yards, 3 TDs) is suddenly unstoppable. Maybe Greg Roman really was the problem … (AP Photo/Jeffrey T. Barnes)
Browns 26
Titans 28 At a time when the Indians are two wins away from going to the World Series and the Cavaliers are the favorite to repeat as NBA champs, the Browns remind Cleveland they’re still Cleveland by threatening to become just the second team to go 0-16. (AP Photo/Mark Zaleski)

Panthers 38
Saints 41 How badly has Carolina’s defense regressed? They let Drew Brees notch his NFL-record 15th 400-yard passing game and Brandin Cooks become the first player in six years to have multiple 85-yard TD catches in a season. These Panthers have no teeth. (Photo by Sean Gardner/Getty Images)

Chiefs 26
Raiders 10 Marcus Peters picked off his league-leading 5th interception to help Kansas City’s defense stun the first place Raiders in Oakland. If that was Derek Carr being careful, perhaps those Brett Favre comparisons are more accurate than expected. (AP Photo/Ben Margot)

Seahawks 26 Dan Quinn’s return to Seattle reminded us of two things: His old team is trending toward a return to the elite and his current team isn’t yet good enough to beat the elite. (AP Photo/Elaine Thompson)

Cowboys 30
Packers 16 Dak Prescott threw his first career interception … but not before setting a new NFL record for consecutive passes without a pick to start a career (176). Prescott also became the first Cowboys rookie QB to throw for 3 TDs in a game since Troy Aikman in 1989. Even as he and Ezekiel Elliott rewrite the record books in Dallas, don’t overlook how well the Cowboys’ 8th-ranked scoring defense is playing. (Photo by Hannah Foslien/Getty Images)

Colts 23
Texans 26 (OT)
Entering this prime-time affair, Indy was giving up 32.5 points per game without two of their top three cornerbacks. Yet it took Brock Osweiler more than three quarters to muster could only manage to throw for 269 yards and a pair of touchdowns his receivers made great plays on. Methinks Houston didn’t spend their money very well.
