Two seriously hurt in Potomac crash

WASHINGTON — Two people are fighting for their lives after a crash in Potomac, Maryland on Sunday afternoon.

According to Montgomery County Fire and Rescue spokesman Pete Piringer, the crash occurred on Travilah Road, between Stoney Creek and River roads.

Piringer said the people inside the vehicle were trapped had to be extricated — one person was pinned for 45 minutes. Two people suffered life-threatening injuries. One had to be flown to the hospital, Piringer said.

Further details regarding the crash or the victims were unavailable.

A portion of Travilah Road was shut closed to traffic for several hours. A Montgomery Count police Collision Reconstruction Unit is assessing the scene.
