Suspect in Fairfax Co. trail attacks faces additional charges

WASHINGTON – Fairfax County police have obtained additional charges against a man arrested for sexually assaulting women along various trails in the county.

Jeremiah Whitmore Tolley, 21, of Fairfax, was arrested Friday and charged with abduction with intent to defile and sexual assault. Tuesday, Fairfax County police announced seven additional counts of sexual assault that date back to late August.

Tolley was taken into custody a day after a woman walking near Waples Mill and Random Hills roads was grabbed from behind and groped. The attack was the latest of several similar cases on Faifax County trails over the last two weeks.

Tolley was being held at the Adult Detention Center without bond.
