DC police investigating kidnapping, attempted sex assault

WASHINGTON — D.C. police are looking for a man who forced a female into a truck, drove her to a park and tried to sexually assault her on Thursday evening.

Police said the incident happened at around 5 p.m. Thursday. A female walking in the 1000 block of Mississippi Avenue SE was forced into a blue, four-door truck by a man she did not know, police said in a news release Saturday.

She was taken to Fort Dupont Park, where the man tried to take off her clothes “with the intent to sexually assault her,” police said.

The female was able to get away.

Police described the suspect as a black man in his 50s, who was 5 feet 7 inches tall with a stocky build. Police said the man had brown eyes, short black hair with light-gray facial hair. He was last seen wearing a blue sweatshirt and dirty black pants, possibly work or utility pants.

Police have asked anyone with information to call police at 202-727-9099. People also can submit tips by sending a text message to 50411.
