Circulator bus riders face major delays

WASHINGTON — Passengers who hop on D.C. Circulator buses are experiencing delays on all routes due to safety inspections that have limited the number of buses available.

A spokesman with the District Department of Transportation says six of the system’s 67 buses were “pulled from service for maintenance.”

During an inspection, crews discovered chafed wires on one of the buses and then pulled five other similar buses as a precaution.

It is not clear when all the vehicles will return to service.
