DC police seek help in locating missing teen girl

WASHINGTON — D.C. police are asking for the public’s help in locating a teen girl who was last seen March 27 in the 5800 block of Field Place, Northeast.

Osharna Pittman, 13, is described as 5 feet 3 inches tall, weighing 120 pounds, with brown eyes, black shoulder-length hair and a dark-brown complexion.

Osharna was last seen wearing a burgundy shirt, white jeans and silver Puma tennis shoes, officials said.

D.C.’s missing have taken the national spotlight recently.

District Mayor Muriel Bowser has committed more funds to programs dealing with the situation, though she stated that the number of missing kids is not on the rise. Rather, public attention to missing persons is.

Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Osharna Pittman is asked to call the Metropolitan Police Department at 202-727-9099, the Youth and Family Services Division at 202-576-6768 or 911.
