Alexandria handing out sandbags Sunday

WASHINGTON – Given the potential for heavy rain, the city of Alexandria is warning residents and local businesses to prepare for possible flooding.

Between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. Sunday, the city will be handing out sandbags to resident with proof of residency at the following locations:

  • George Washington Middle School parking lot (1005 Mount Vernon Avenue)
  • Intersection of King & Lee Streets in Old Town Alexandria

There is a five bag limit per person.
