A crash involving a school bus and a Kia Soul occurred at the 7500 block of Green Valley Road at about 3:30 p.m., according to Mike Dmuchowski, spokesman for the county's Division of Fire and Rescue Services.
The driver of the Kia Soul, a man in his 30s, was flown to Meritus Medical Center with non life-threatening injuries, according to the Frederick County Sheriff's Office. His name was not being immediately released Tuesday afternoon.
The car drove into the back of the school bus and sustained heavy front-end damage. The bus had minor damage to the rear bumper.
The car had to be pushed from the roadway by a State Highway Administration truck. The bus was driven to the shoulder.
Fourteen students, 13 from New Market Middle School and one from New Market Elementary, were on the bus. Four New Market Middle students suffered what appeared to be minor neck and knee injuries and were taken to Frederick Memorial Hospital, according to Dian Nelson, communication coordinator with Frederick County Public Schools. The bus driver was not injured.
All lanes of Md. 75 between Old Annapolis and Glissans Mill Road have been reopened as of 5:05 p.m., according to the Maryland State Highway Administration's website.
