Sweet, natural, romantic: Prince Harry, Meghan Markle talk about relationship, engagement

WASHINGTON — Britain’s Prince Harry and actress Meghan Markle are officially engaged and they spilled some of the details of their relationship and engagement in an interview with BBC News on Monday.

Harry, 33, proposed to Markle, 36, a year and a half after they met through a mutual friend, he said in the interview.

He proposed a few weeks ago while they were roasting chicken in their cottage.

“It was a cozy night. It was just an amazing surprise. It was so sweet and natural and very romantic,” said Markle.

It was an instant yes from her when Harry got on one knee.

“She didn’t even let me finish,” he said. “She said ‘Can I say yes? Can I say yes?’ And then there were hugs and I had the ring on my finger and I said, ‘Can I give you the ring?’ And she said, ‘Oh yes, the ring!’”

The couple is expected to marry in the spring.
