WASHINGTON — In case you were wondering … Yes, there was a string of unseasonably cold temperatures this February.
According to ABC 7’s Storm Watch Meteorologist Mike Stinneford, several days saw record lows at D.C. area airports. Some day records from the year1896 were even shattered.
Temperatures are normally in the 50s this time of year but temperatures were 8.5 degrees below average for the month, Stinneford says. A s for snow it wasn’t a record setting month
There is hope in that March 1 does mark the beginning of the meteorological spring. However, it seems no one told Mother Nature yet. Still Stinneford says, the are could actually see highs near 60 on Wednesday.
