WASHINGTON — The University of Maryland in College Park is closing later this week and suspending one day of its move-in activities because of the approaching winter storm.
The university announced Wednesday that it will be closed Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Also, because of the anticipated snow Friday night into Saturday, move-in activities are suspended for Saturday.
Essential personnel will assist with student move in on Friday — which will begin earlier at 8 a.m. Any residence hall student who would like to move in Friday may do so between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.
Students who have final exams scheduled for Friday will hear directly from their instructors, the university says.
Spring semester classes will begin as scheduled on Monday, Jan. 25.
