Wall out with a knee injury; timeline for his return uncertain

WASHINGTON — The Washington Wizards All-Star point guard John Wall will undergo a procedure on his left knee this week and could be out for several weeks.

He could also miss the All-Star Game, set for Feb. 18.

It’s the same knee that has already caused Wall to miss 12 games this season. He met with team doctors on Monday, underwent an MRI and traveled to Cleveland to seek more medical advice.

In a statement, the team said that Wall will undergo an arthroscopic debridement procedure on his left knee on Wednesday by a doctor at the Cleveland Clinic. The team said the timeline for Wall’s recovery will be determined after the procedure.

Some news outlets had reported that Wall could miss up to six weeks of the season.

In 37 games this season, Wall is averaging 19.4 points and 9.3 assists per game.
